Just to let you know that patriotism does not depend on displays of exterior symbols such as lapel pins or flags. Nor is it predicated on whether one places their hand on their heart during the singing of the national anthem. These are merely easily displayed indications of "patriotism" much like "pietism". True patriotism and true piety are in the heart - not on a flag decal or a fish symbol.
As John Prine said - "Your flag decal won't get you into heaven anymore...."

Stop characterizing patriotism as whether or not one wears a flag lapel pin, which was probably made in China anyway. Millions of people don't wear flag pins, have flags on their cars or homes and are still good "Americans". In fact it is entirely possible that those who don't have those outward displays are better Americans than those who do.
