HRC did not do what she had to do last night. I met with a group of very accomplished, busy, engaged women tonight and they were not impressed with HRC's performance last night. These are basically Republican women who run their own businesses. They basically think she came off as a whiner and he came off as a statesman. They are going for Obama. I pointedly asked if they had thought about Obama's race (we're in NH, by the way) and they said that it had never entered their minds. That is very important! They see Obama and not a black man, but as a leader and I suspect that some of these gals have seen about 3 black people in their entire lives. The most interesting part of the conversation tonight was that they basically said: "we don't know if he can really deliver...we hope and pray he can...but we're willing to take the chance." Amazing!

This is a report from the ground in New Hampshire.
