At least women got to vote then. As far as I know there were no poll taxes or literacy tests for women voters in the 60s.

What I don't understand is why is America supposedly more sexist than the rest of the world? Plenty of other countries have had women in charge, are we really more sexist than all of them? Or is it just that we haven't had the right candidate yet? Or maybe there's some flaw in our electoral system that keeps things this way? I honestly don't know.

Women aren't restricted from voting and they are over 50% of the population so politics should be one area that is relatively free of entrenched patriarchal biases shouldn't it?
