Aren't some things just a given if someone is going to be the Democratic nominee for President? [View All]

In other words, can't we just take some things for granted? Ok, maybe not. Here are some questions that I ask myself:

Should they be against pre-emptive war?

Should they be against torture?

Should they be against fear mongering as a means of political advancement?

Should they wager "whisper campaigns" and use of surrogates to suggest the unsayable?

Should they represent corporations and lobbyists or citizens?

Should they attempt to "game the system" if it's to their advantage?

Should they believe that the ends (their election) justifies the means even if it means destroying their party?

Should they advance the opposition candidate against their same party opponent?

Should they understand that their tax returns and general financial dealings are subject to general scrutiny if they run for national office?

Should they accuse their opponent of actions they themselves have done in order to divert attention?



I am happy to apply these questions towards both Clinton and Obama and keep my personal tally. So far, one is blowing the other out of the water.
