What is bad about saying people are bitter???

I am sorry, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what is bad about saying that. People are bitter, they are angry, they are furious, they are upset, devastated, etc.

Not being an Obama supporter, I am nevertheless impressed with the reality of this statement, as opposed to the "people are optimistic" that Hillary is saying, which unfortunately in my mind echoes GW's "I'm an optimist" statement in front of the Iraq/Afghanistan disaster, or the disaster-in-waiting of the US economy.

Don't we want our eyes to be open?
Aren't we tired of the forced "Good Ole USA" approach to life after 8 years of militarized corporatist fascism??

I hope people are bitter...they should be! If you're not upset or angry, you must be asleep!

However, if someone can explain to me why it is bad to say people are bitter, then I might understand it better.
