Some polls were predicting a 5%-10% victory for Senator Clinton in the Hoosier state. With 99% of the polls reporting in All major networks are putting this one on the books for the senator from New York. Obama, In a sign of good will congratulated Clinton on this hard fought victory. Obama was celebrating in North Carolina with resounding 10 point lead.
With Just over 22000 votes separating the candidates, this was as close as races can get for the Democratic nomination. Through out the night Clinton led with an almost certain margin of 10 % through rural areas. In the end however, the urban areas proved to be Obama stronghold. With them he slashed her margins to 22,000 votes of over 1.25 million votes cast.
With such a narrow victory in key state Clinton's next move is less certain. Having exhausted most other avenues, for victor . Trailing by roughly 150 delegates and 700,000 in the popular vote (excluding Florida and Michigan which all candidates pledged would not count prior to the primaries), the future of her campaign is uncertain.
It seems Senators Clinton next move will require serious thought on whether to continue on what in all likely appearances, will be a failed attempt to gain the coveted nomination, Or continue on with slash and burn politics that is likely to jeopardize the upcoming General Election.
