They framed it as a two-way race from the beginning. Although both the finalists are triangulating centrists, one is not only urging supporters to commit to ongoing involvement, but is also putting resources into it. One is running a campaign that connects with local party activists and builds on what has already been done instead of bopping into town and acting like they don't exist.
From over here in the left corner, there are no really significant policy differences between Obama and Clinton, but being in the reality-based community I can see when I've been out-organized. It would be great if we could have a candidate who was right about damned near everything like Kucinich, an aggressively populist orator like Edwards with a resume as long as Richardson's who could organize like Obama. That candidate unfortunately does not exist right now.
I sure hope the hell you aren't recommending that us lefties should go back to talking to each other instead of our neighbors. If we can't offer good options for ongoing issue organizing to the influx of Obama newbies, that will be our own damned fault. Quit griping and start registering voters.
