54. I fit the profile of a Hillary supporter |
|
I am an older (59), white, woman, former New Yorker, who makes $13/hour as a Teacher's Assistant. The only deviation I have from her so called "white working class" supporter is that I have a 2 year college degree.
Maybe it's the education factor which trumps everything else? Or perhaps more significantly, it is the fact that I have lived under her Senate rule? Who knows her better than a New Yorker who voted for her in the past?
But whatever. I will not vote for a woman just because we share the same gender. She has to be the RIGHT woman for the job. I don't feel that Hillary is that woman.
I will cast my vote for Obama. I don't care that he is male, black, or whatever, as long as he is the person best suited for the office of the Presidency.
My daughter and future son-in-law, who still live in NY, will be voting for Obama also. They are both teachers and will never become "rich" in their chosen profession.
My older daughter, also in NY, is a security guard. She certainly would be classified as "white working class". She is also a lesbian. She too is supporting Obama.
It certainly seems that Obama isn't just getting the black vote, now does it?
