It's been a long campaign and an emotional one. There has been anger, tears, snark, and outright unkindness and ugliness.

And I have been right in the middle of some of that. Sometimes things get out of control even when we try to be evenhanded and fair.

I won't lie and say I like how Hillary has run her campaign and I don't expect anyone to turn around magically become an Obama fan.

When the dust settles however, we are ALL democrats and the real enemy is John McCain and his party and we must never lose sight of that fact.

It may seem odd to quote a republican, but here it is: We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must no break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield, and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearthstone, all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature. - A.
