38. doesn't seem pathetic to me
And basically everything a candidate does is "public".

Candidate's and the reporters assigned to cover their campaigns effectively live with each other for months. That they would have a drink at the end of the day together is hardly surprising and not in the least pathetic. As for the "past middle aged woman" remark -- well, I'm just going to hope that doesn't reflect some view on your part that a "past middle aged woman" should be held to a different standard than a "past middle aged man". And I doubt anyone would think a 60 year old public figure having a drink with a bunch of reporter (or having a drink on other occasions where drinking is going on) is somehow "pathetic."

I'm an Obama supporter who worried when this thread was started that it would bring out puritan/moralist posts criticizing HRC for drinking or claiming that because she's been photographed having a drink on a few occasions she must have a drinking problem.

Lighten up already.
