That said ... the funeral IS very sad, and the tributes touching ... but MSNBC is really overdoing it. They should have covered it on Friday (with all the memories from the NBC folks), done the Meet the Press tribute, and then covered the memorial. That would have been plenty. Those three things.

MSNBC only covers the news a few hours a day (the rest is "Lock-up" and shows like that) ... so covering the Russert death non-stop for days has left us alone with Silly CNN (isn't EVERYONE on CNN just plain SILLY anymore? they report on the floods in the Midwest with big ole SMILES on their faces!).

Hopefully, today will be it.
