Love and Hope from Ireland

Okay everyone, it's 1.58 in the morning, time for some sleep! I'm not the best at praying, to be honest, but God, or whatever higher power is up there, won't get a minute's rest tonight because I'll be bombarding him with promises that I'll be good forever more if he sees to it that the United States and the rest of the world will be looked after by President Barack Obama come January. That's a fair deal, I'm sure he'll agree.

Any way, you're all truly, truly, amazing people, I know from reading your posts how much work, energy and hope you've invested in this campaign, from the bottom of my heart I pray that you get what you so deserve tomorrow, and that's an exceptional President you can be proud of. Barack Obama is magnificent, but it's people like you who have made it possible for his light to shine as brightly as it has done since he began running for the presidency, you should all be so proud of that. You're part of history.

To this day my elderly mother remains in love with JFK, she adored him - last night we watched a PBS documentary, shown on Irish television, about Obama (and McCain), and she said it was like watching history repeat. She has the same sense of awe when she watches this wonderful man from, like me, afar. She's not alone, most people in my corner of the world feel the same way. I can only guess how you all feel.

So, sleep well all of you, you'll need all the energy you can muster for tomorrow. Pray for Toot tonight - she won't miss her grandson being elected president, she'll be right by his side, and she'll watch his inauguration from the heavens above. Let these be tears of joy tomorrow. God bless you Barack Obama. Night everyone, talk tomorrow.
