Obviously he's never given birth, but he at least knows how to handle a baby so that the baby feels safe, and he makes eye contact. Strangers' babies! And his close rapport with his own children is obvious.

I'm a woman who's never given birth and doesn't want to, but wow - when I had my friends' babies to hold, I was kind of in awe of the responsibility, and even though I'm kind of socially-inept when it comes to the pre-literate, I sure wanted to leave a positive impression on the tiny little person.
