200. Building a tsunami of public outrage to wash away the Reps
1. Specific request--ie, bring Boxer's bill up for a vote!

2. Target the obstructionists first: key committee members, party leaders in the GOP.

3. Draft a petition like the contestthevote.com people did to those key Senators and Reps. Do a Google search for Democratic Clubs in their states. Forward the link to your petition to every single officer at every single club. Ask them to send it to all of their members. Ask each member to sign it--and to get several others offline to contact their elected officials as well. Include strangers--bring up the topic and enlist help from Republicans as well. Pick nice people you sort of know--store clerks, beauticians, etc. Tell them the truth--shock them about the 10 hour lines in minority neighborhoods, the machines that switched votes and are ownewd by GOP supporters, and the fact that Ohio's Secretary of State Co-Chaired the Bush-Cheney campaign. Honestly, this works!
Most people really want fair elections. (Note: Also send the petition to other progressive groups--Green Party, Peace & Freedom, Peace Centers, environmental and women's rights groups in your area, for instance. Edit the petition occasionally to remove freepers.)

4. Once your petition has tens of thousands of signatures, notify the media and stage a citizens' march to deliver it to your Senators' and Repesentatives' offices.

5. Stage a sit in until you get a meeting with your members. Have groups to spell each other, day after day, until you get a meeting--and the right answer. If your member refuses to meet with you, hold a press conference to ask what the Republicans are hiding?
Raise as big a ruckus as possible in a very crowded public place--
to attract a lot of public attention! Tell protesters to bring bells to ring--sounding the death knoll for Democracy because your elected officials think rigged elections are just fine. Have people designated to pass out flyers to onlookers during these rallies.

If once doesn't work, go to college campuses and recruit support. Get thousands of people into the streets, with media coverage of your elected officials' utter lack of moral values.

Don't think your media will cover this? San Diego has long been considered a very conservative town.

We held rallies for Donna Frye (the unbubbled ballots issue). Making them very visual got the media there. We blew bubbles and carried signs saying "Count Votes, not Bubbles." People beat drums and blew bagpipes. WE had people at rallies sign a voting DECLARATION that was blown up to six feet or so, and held up a Christmas tree bag stuffed full of paper labeled 5,547 uncounted ballots.

We got coverage on nearly every station--and to our astonishment, the most coverage of all was on our local FOX News station!

We helped circulated the petition to Barbara Boxer. Sending it to Democrat Clubs make the number of signatures skyrocket--not just our local clubs, but many all over the state. (Google "democratic clubs"+ your state's name.) We staged rallies and sit-ins at her office, and flooded her with calls, faxes and e-mails. Not hundreds. Not thousands. Tens or maybe even hundreds of thousands!

I think our efforts also helped keep our right-wing Congressman from voting for the Ohio electors. He abstained, which was a minor victory.

Yes, we can win--if we keep building until not even the Republicans can ignore a veritable tsunami of public outrage!
