Testing a punch card in it's simplest form entails, running 1 card for every ballot position to see if they punched true. What it would not do is run combinations that might trigger an if then scenario in the tabulation. I would think testing of the machines would have to occur days in advance at the BoE.

What precinct workers would have to know is which machines belong to which precinct in a multi precinct polling location. The book that attachs to the punch card apparatus had number positions. If you checked your punch card after voting you should see the correct hole punched.
