The U.S. Supreme Court turned down Terri Schiavo's parents Thursday, declining to intervene to keep the brain-damaged woman alive, while Florida Gov. Jeb Bush lost his bid before a state judge to help the parents regain control of their daughter from her husband. The Supreme
Court decision, announced in a terse one-page order, marked the end of a dramatic four-day dash through the federal court system by Bob and Mary Schindler.
As for Bush... "The governor is disappointed and will continue to do
whtever he can within the law to save Terri's life," Bush spokesman Jacob DiPietre said.
The police presence outside Schiavo's hospice increases; So far, 13
activists arrested...

A Pennsylvania woman was charged with stealing money and other items in recent weeks by walking up to six elderly victims, giving them a big hug - and then stealing their wallets or other loose items in the process.
Mary Ann Johnson pretended to know the victims who are too polite to
