Shortly after yesterday's 8-4 loss to the Orioles in front of a sun-splashed Camden Yards crowd of 47,883 that stretched the Yankees' losing streak to four, The Boss cried uncle.
"Enough is enough," Steinbrenner said in a statement. "I am bitterly disappointed, as I am sure all Yankee fans are, by the lack of performance by our team. It is unbelievable to me that the highest paid team in baseball would start the season in such a deep funk."
Then, as usual, The Boss said it was Joe Torre's mess to fix.
