I'm conflicted and confused |

I received an e-mail from Barack Obama's website regarding the McClurkin issue. Of course it was the standard reply, but it also included a letter from a group who said they stand with him despite this.
I cannot be that person. Below is my reply to his letter. For the first time since I've been of voting age I find that I do not know if I can support a Democractic candidate if he or she is the chosen nominee.
*** I just received a letter regarding Obama and Donnie McClurkin at the recent event. It details how he feels that we need to confront those we disagree with. Does that mean that we also need to let them MC the event? Regardless of that, does that mean that we can expect to see a member of the Ku Klux Klan given the opportunity to MC one of Mr. Obama's tours soon? After all, if we need to speak to those we disagree with, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
Oh, and by the way, the ridiculous comment made by Mr. Obama that Mr. McClurkin only wants to change unhappy gays is beyond an affront. It shows Mr. Obama's lack of knowledge on what it means to be a gay person. People should be shown you can be happy with who you are. Not go to some quack who claims he can make you an ex-gay.
For these reasons I cannot and will not support Mr. Obama, even if he is the Democratic nominee.
