French investigators are looking into an e-mail, sent to an Islamic website, that urges attacks on Paris' openly gay mayor and the city's landmarks.
According to the Associated Press, the e-mail's sender and the site were not identified by the anonymous officials from the prosecutor's office's antiterrorism unit.
Mayor Bertrand Delanoe said on a radio talk show that he was informed of the threat on Saturday.
"I am calm. I have the information I need and I have complete confidence in the work . . . of police headquarters vis-a-vis security problems in general, terrorism in particular, and finally, the protection of the mayor of Paris," he said later on the TV station iTele. (The Advocate)
