(but you knew that) though "serendipity" is a pretty good word for all the little miracles otherwise known as coincidences.
Great story. Reminds me of one I can't repeat because I don't remember all the little ins and outs. Basically, it's a peasant telling his story and at every turn, the listener says, "Oh, that's too bad," but the peasant says, "Well, not really..." and goes on to explain how something good came out of the misfortune. The chain of events (all little tragedies with a silver lining) culminates in the peasant's only son having a broken leg, and the good fortune behind that was that with the broken leg he couldn't be pressed into service for the emperor's war.
Glad the thread was of some value. I rather like it myself. :-) :bounce:
