21. Interesting You Should Bring This Up
Because I've been wondering if maybe we needed to look at this from a different angle. The only inner circle women are Rice and Hughes and I have wondered about them, but can't quite imagine it. I also wondered if, it might possibly be someone on the fringes of the inner circle and that their role might be that of a catalyst. The domino that starts the others falling. What made me wonder about this is, there was a story in GDP several days ago about a judge named Owen who might very well be the reason the filibuster issue will be brought to a head. She, RW activist judge was at one point sanctioned several times by Gonzales for her views which he felt were outside the law. Now of course, he's backing her. She has been stopped before but is going to come up again, she may be the catalyst for a showdown. Now, in a rambling way, what I am getting at is this" we've been thinking that someone would come right out and say they did this and they did that. But what if, what is actually going to happen is, that because of a sense of guilt, they misspeak about something and that is what starts the unraveling of the ball of yarn. For it's not in the nature of anyone who is really in the inner circle to show "disloyalty", but what if they were compelled beyond their will, so to speak?

The other thing on my mind regarding this speculation is Laura Bush's comedic turn the other night. In reading the transcript and seeing clips I was struck by what I perceived as a level of truth camouflaged as jokes. Frankly I thought there was a certain amount of disdain to it and it had a real edge. The consensus in my home was that she is one "pissed off" lady. Now I can't imagine her spilling the beans either but I would have never expected something like that from her a year or two ago.

Does any of this make sense? To anyone?
