Also, I am very familiar with Farrell and knew it would never take off.

The Gore camp asked us to stop the entire draft movement, including the write-in
"campaign" in NH. This was not "3rd hand" and the source was not "unidentified".
Farrell was well aware of this.

I am correcting you, not disagreeing. I was in talks with all the national groups, the
leaders of the early big states (including New York) and was contacted directly by
Roy. The point was to quietly close shop. There was some press about it in CA. If
it was a bogus request, the Gore camp would have made the correction, wouldn't they?
Believe me, Gore asked us to stop.
