An Oklahoma student tried to start a secular club

<snip>

One could guess that things did not go well.

The student reported:

A year ago I had the idea to start a student club for secular individuals to meet up. In most states this is something that is going to knowingly pick up a lot of flack and be a lot of work. Well I chose to try to start it in a high school in Oklahoma – the belt buckle of the Bible belt.

<snip>

This student wrote that at the high school s/he attended had plenty of groups for athletes and Christians. Nothing for the secular minded. Being a good secular student s/he did some online searches and found the Secular Student Alliance.

<snip>

The student held a first meeting and approximately fifteen students attended.

The next day this student was called to the principal’s office.
