Economic Report: Drink Up And Rake In More Pay - 09/15/06

Economic Report:

By Jesse Russell

If you think tossing back a few drinks after work is draining your wallet - think again. A new study published in the Journal of Labor Research and Reason Foundation found that drinkers earn on average 10 to 14 percent more at their jobs then nondrinkers. And men who hit the bars at least once a month? They tend to bring in seven percent more in additional pay. Report co-author Edward Stringham suggested that social drinking helps build social capital.
