Take a moment to enjoy the grandeur and beauty:

The Sombrero Galaxy - 28 million light years from Earth - was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are as spectacular as its appearance. It has 800 billion suns and is 50,000 light years across

"Even a relatively quiet day on the Sun is busy. This ultraviolet image shows bright, glowing arcs of gas flowing around the sunspots."

"The Voyager spacecraft captured this picture of Saturn's nightside in November 1980. The giant planet's shadow is cast across its bright rings. Since only the dayside of Saturn is visible from Earth, telescopes here could never capture an image like this."

The Cassini photographed Saturn while the sun was behind it. This picture was taken in a series of 165 images which were put together into this stunning mosaic.

On Edit:
Sometimes, the news and the politics, the anger and the frustration I feel after reading post after post of what goes on in this world and with this administration...it gets so overwhelming. I think, at times, we must stop and look at the big picture. It can help us to rejuvenate ourselves. My blessings to all of those who care so deeply at DU.
