so who's going to tell the people? . . .

who's going to start telling Americans the truth -- even though they know Americans don't want to hear it? . . .

Dems seem to prefer the "chickenshit approach" to politics and government . . . the one that prevents them from saying or doing ANYTHING that someone might potentially criticize . . . by doing nothing, they can only be criticized for one thing -- doing nothing . . .

Dems will only start winning when they resolve to start telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth . . . about EVERYTHING . . . . truths like . . .

- the American way of life is going to undergo drastic changes, and soon . . . we can either manage that change, or wait until it destroys us . . . the illusion of wealth we're living under is just that -- an illusion . . .

- Americans' use of energy must drastically reduce . . . and alternative energy must become a national priority of the highest order . . .

- the war in Iraq is phony, and has killed not only several thousand Americans, but tens of thousands of Iraqis for no discernable reason . . .

- the official version of what happened on 9/11 is fiction, and the investigation must be re-opened to find the truth . . .

- the economy is a weak and getting weaker . . . drastic measures (including tax increases, and ending the war) are required immediately to forestall disaster . . .

- the ever-increasing concentration of wealth in the hands of a few is contributing to the weakened economy and, consequently, to a dangerously weak nation . . . it must be corrected . . .

- poverty and hunger are epidemic in the world, and getting worse in America . . . correcting this is the responsiblity of all Americans . . .

- protecting the environment must also become a national priority of the highest order . . . we're destroying the sustainer of life for humans and all other species . . .

- the Congress is pretty much owned by corporations, whose employees and lobbyists actually write much of the legislation that Congress considers -- and all too often enacts . . . corporations must be regulated so they don't accrue excessive power and influence (like they already have) . . .

- the corporate media deals propaganda, not news . . . their purpose is to keep us misinformed, ill-informed, and/or uninformed, depending on the issue . . . corrective action must be taken . . .

- without universal healthcare and control of drug and other medical costs, the economy will continue to weaken . . .

- the U.S. has committed crimes against international law, against the Geneva conventions, and against humanity under BushCo . . . one of the most damaging is the use of depleted uranium weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the devastating impact it's having on our troops, on Iraqis, and on the Iraqi environment . . .

these truths -- and many others -- are extremely difficult to face up to . . . when confronted with their reality, many Americans choose to look away and not believe . . . watching "American Idol" is much more comfortable than actually thinking about the world you live in and your personal responsibility to it as a member of the human race . . .

no, Americans don't want to hear it . . . but whoever tells them the truth will at least have a chance of getting the country to change course before it's too late . . . (although it may already be -- too late, that is) . . .

just a rant . . . thanks for listening . . .
