But change had to come. The Democratic Party became no longer the party of Southern racists. It was cleansed and we are the better for it. The fact that the Republicans employed the Southern Strategy to get their foothold is to their everlasting shame and I always mention that to Northern Republicans when they start with how they are the party of the majority.
