2. Other than one of the council members owning a competing business;
And being a douche bag about the sign, the only reason I can think of that makes sense why it has come to this is possibly a sign ordinance. If there are laws on the books limiting signs for a business then it is a no brainer. This happens all over the country and most of the laws governing this are good, in my opinion.
