Two Marriage Equality Ads Premier on News 12 Tonight
Advertisements [?]
Garden State Equality and Blue Jersey are running two 30 second marriage equality ads on News 12 New Jersey, beginning tonight and scheduled to run for at least two weeks. One of the two ads is the first of four "Think Equal" ads created last year by Blue Jersey - a parody of the popular "PC vs Mac" ads featuring married woman vs civil unioned woman.

Think Equal' highlights the undeniable truth that words do matter. Until all committed couples are given the right of marriage, the confusing semantics of civil unions will serve to deny the LGBT community basic civil rights. The progressive community has never accepted 'separate and unequal,' and we're not about to start now.

Compared to one year ago when the Think Equal ads were created, today we are much closer to achieving marriage equality for all committed couples.:

One year ago, the day the high court ruled, only six Trenton lawmakers agreed to vote for a marriage bill. Goldstein now says he counts at least 35 supporters in the Assembly, where he'll need 41, and 15 in the Senate, where he'll need 21.
