the media, owned by Murdoch, Disney and GE et al, have helped to promote the "top tier" "viable" "electable" candidates (product placement helps), with corporate financial support

It seems like one big circus, and the yellow-journalists are in control of our debate forums.
Cue the Twilight Zone theme.

I suspect, in the end, corporate america will get the nominees and president they want.

The media plays the system as it's set up, and neither party is making any effort to change it any time soon (see HAVA voting).

A lot needs changing, i.e. campaign financing, or we'll be seeing Circus 2012.
