8. How about NO.
If a kid is immunocompromised, it's a good idea. But every kid? Most kids have immune systems that can fight off the flu, and fighting it off improves the effectiveness of the immune system and instills a long term immunity to that particular strain.

The odds of a non-immunocompromised kid getting the flu in any given year is tiny. The odds that a sick kid will die of it is so small it's barely worth considering. The need for a national child flu immunization program just isn't there.
