And I've watched that interview, by now, many times.

I can't believe how narrow minded and anti-intellectual we've become. Anyone that exhibits independent thought is a natural target anymore, suspect and reflexively reviled -- no matter how long a career of public service. I don't even recognize this country sometimes.
