If the young man were truly suffering from a mental disorder to the extent that his behavior was out of his control, there would be many many instances where he would have attacked people who would have been amply able to defend themselves. He didn't attack his father apparently, no records of him attacking larger boys or older kids, none of him attacking full grown men. If he wasn't able to control his behavior he would be lashing out at whoever was closest when he happened to lose control. The fact that his victims have always been targets who were more vulnerable than him proves that he is able to show judgment and self-control prior to attacking. He. is. a. jerk.

That said I do feel sorry for his family, whether this was brought on by bad parenting or some other type of foolishness doesn't negate the pain and guilt they must be feeling...
