Special ed teacher here. I have taught several ED kids who have this. It's really scary and there's not much they can do for treatment. Drugs work sometimes, but only for the most severe kids.

I find it quite telling that even a wealthy family had trouble finding effective treatment for their child.

Sorry, I really don't find this the least bit funny.
