WASHINGTON — Supreme Court justices John Roberts and Samuel Alito are the models for the type of judges Republican John McCain said Tuesday he would appoint to the federal bench if elected president.
Roberts, the chief justice, and Alito were President Bush's two appointees to the high court and represent "the proper role of the judiciary" that McCain said will be a major issue this fall
