Textiles, fuel, food, an environmentally safer crop, are just a few reasons to allow the growth of hemp. Dont forget the cotton industry's hand in banning it. Working in law enforcement it is a crime to lock up pot heads over domestic assault perpetrators. Think of the money saved by not having to lock people up (I read somewhere that each pot arrest costs taxpayers upwards of $10k).

I can attest to the violence caused by alcohol consumption. I listen to alcohol's effect 4 days a week.

There are at least 3 problems with legalization. 1. Chickenchit politicians 2. Pharma and cotton industry blockades 3. uptight, unreasonalble a/holes.
