12. Why the respect?
While I of course support Google's position, I dislike that they feel they have to say that they "respect the strongly-held beliefs that people have on both sides of this argument". How can you respect the belief that some people should be denied their "fundamental rights"? By all means respect the right for people to believe that, but the belief itself deserves no respect whatsoever. Would you respect the strongly-held beliefs of KKK members?
