11. Why would it be illegal?
My company just started a 401K match 2 years ago. Just up and started it. So why would it be illegal for them to just up and stop it?

This is a retarted reason to stop it, but there are legit reasons for a company to stop it, so I can't see how it would be illegal to stop it.

My company used it as a tool to tell employees they were getting a raise. So the original poster should tell his friend to tell his boss that if they stop the match so they don't steal the money, that he would be perfectly fine with just having the money added to his paycheck.
