I fail to understand why anyone who considers themselves liberal or progressive would not vote in favor of it. Whether you LIKE gay marriage being legal or not is a personal issue. Equal Rights for all is a legal issue. When you vote against it, or speak out against it, or make fun of it, or dismiss it as being unimportant, then you are not advocating equal rights. Many of us seem to be advocating 'separate but equal'. This is bullshit! Separate is NOT EQUAL! Civil union is NOT equal!
So please think about it. DO you believe all of us, as American citizens, Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Old, Young, Christian, Jew, Buddist, Bahai, Catholic, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, Straight, Gay, Democrats, Republicans(ugh)or any other group should have equal rights? Or do we still want to pick which groups should get them? To pick & choose which groups is decidedly NOT progressive or liberal.
Please think about it.
