"Girlie" suggests a sort of artificial, hyper femininity--the frills, pink this and that, overly made up thing, rather than as a negative jab at females. Think of someone like "girlie" Paris Hilton and her annoying yapping animal she totes around like an accessory. Give me a sturdy sensible dog with a definitive "woof" any time.
This is "girlie." Yech!  This is a real dog and one with a reputation of being good with kids:  |
