An ode to Dems who "Keep their powder dry"....

KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY

A man was sent to Washington,
The people’s pick on high,
There he found a policy,
Called “Keep your powder dry”.

This policy seemed strange to him,
Was different than the rest,
It didn’t seem to make good sense,
And yet he was impressed.

Because it was the way of life,
For all those in the know,
It surely must be useful,
To a man who wants to grow.

If only he could master it,
His people he would show,
That he too could be powerful,
Just like those who’were in the know.

He practiced and he practiced,
This policy he had learned,
But unfortunately, it was for naught,
Every outcome badly turned.

It couldn’t be, it made no sense,
The wise folks surely knew,
That the policy had a fatal flaw,
Which as time passed, it grew,

The flaw was simple, they must know,
The premise would not fit,
If you “keep your powder dry”,
You simply can’t use any of it.

So what good is the powder,
When a warning of use is made,
No one will heed your empty threats,
With no price to be paid.
