Yesterday the president made his decision, that his base does not matter to him. He thinks one of two things. That we won't remember or that we really do not matter when elections come around. The republican primaries are in just a little over 13 months. The 2012 election will be in full swing. Now I know that many Americans don't have very good memories and 14 months seems like a life time, I can guarantee that many of us have good enough memory to remember this.

We will not forget that you chose to give millionaires and billionaires huge tax cuts without putting up a true fight. These are the same millionaires and billionaires that made record profits while everyone else was taking shaft because of the same policies that these millionaires and billionaires enacted. You then decided to give them a huge tax cut on their inheritance as well which I don't think anyone even asked you to. What did you get in return for selling out on everything that you stood for during the last election? A 1 year extension of unemployment benefits. Oh wow, aren't the republicans merciful. If you really had to sell out to them because you are a coward you could have gotten the same thing by diverting a few billion from unspent stimulus money instead of borrowing 700 billion we don't have in order to pay for these tax cuts.

We also won't forget that during wall street reform the policies you enacted were mostly pro-wall street. Which is no wonder, since the legislation was written by wall street lobbyists. The fact you threw us a bone with the consumer protection agency won't change the fact that the system which destroyed our economy was largely unchanged.

We also won't forget that during the healthcare debate you and your minions kept insisting that passing a strong healthcare reform bill with a public option could not be done using reconciliation. That any suggestion of doing this using reconciliation was downright insane. Then what happened? You got your ass kicked in Massachusetts and the only way to pass your shitty healthcare bill was now through reconciliation. So you passed it that way, but without the true progressive policies you kept insisting you were for but didn't have the 60 votes for.

Mr. President, I think I speak for many when I say that I won't forget this. Good luck to you in November. I'm sure the republicans that you keep trying to get to like you will be there for you. At least I hope they are, because many of us won't be.
