... don't grasp the concept that "capitalism" was the system developed to replace "feudalism."

Most people take for granted the pyramidal structures of many social and economic organizations in our society. But they don't make the connection of the similarities between the organization of an olde time county and a modern corporation, for example.

Feudalism never really went away, it was supplanted by capitalism. Note that other "isms" do have a similar set of flaws.
