I just donated a few bucks via OFA to help elect Martha Coakley!

After I did, the message that appeared read as follows:

So I figured that since I can't really do anything more for Haiti,
as I've done what I could in terms of donating what I could afford,
this is the next best thing to do with my time that could also make a difference.

So I'll be calling MA voters today and tomorrow....
and I have enlisted both my daughter and her new hubby to make calls as well!
(my son-in-law is from Pembroke, MA, and both he and my daughter went to school in Cambridge,
although they both now live in St. Louis, MO, while my daughter is in graduate school).
they are still both interested in making sure the Pugs have the least amount of sway
in our already fucked up Senate.

I think among other things, they want reform on Student loans to pass.

At the end of the day, whatever happens won't be because I just sat on the sideline
doing nothing, or only complained about what wasn't being done, or predicted a dire outcome,
as though it has already come to pass.

There are supreme court judges to confirm, as well health care to pass,
as well as a myriad of issues and policies that I want to see happen, and the fewer senators
voting in the way that I wish, the worse things will be for the American people,
both in the short as well as in the long run.
