US has opened 'the gates of hell', American POW's to be Executed
BTW, evidently the "insurgents" have a name and highly structured organization: the Army of Muhammed

US has opened 'the gates of hell', American POW's to be Executed
Source: JUS | 6:50:12 AM

The American Washington Post newspaper in its Wednesday, November 17th 2004 issue carried remarks of Shaykh ‘Abdallah al-Janabi, the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of Fallujah, an 18-member council of religious leaders, tribal chiefs and Baath Party members. Speaking in an undamaged house in the an-Nazal neighborhood of Fallujah on Monday, al-Janabi was flanked by several bodyguards and wore an explosive vest, with wires that would detonate it dangling a few inches apart. A bodyguard said the religious leader preferred martyrdom to “dying on his bed like a camel,” according to the American newspaper’s report.

The Washington Post quoted al-Janabi as saying: “The Americans have opened the gates of hell, the Battle of Fallujah is the beginning of other battles.” (snip) “The cause will not die if the individuals die,” al-Janabi said. “It will survive until the last Iraqi holy warrior dies or runs out of bullets.” He added, “If the military leaders agree on another area where we will inflict more losses on them, then we will.”

(snip)

The Army of Muhammad pledged in its communiqué to pursue the US military everywhere in Iraq and to take their operations into the heart of Baghdad after Fallujah, a battle that had pulled off masks that had not been expected. The communiqué said that the organization would be publicly slitting the throats of the American troops it holds captive.

Earlier the Army of Muhammad issued statements quoted by satellite TV networks, saying that it had captured a number of US prisoners. Mafkarat al-Islam has also reported that the Mujahideen in Fallujah is holding a number of US and British prisoners. A film of 36 American prisoners was turned over to al-Jazeera and al-‘Arabiyah satellite TV companies, who refused to broadcast it. The US has so far refused to acknowledge that the Mujahideen in Fallujah holds American prisoners. According to a report issued by the Advisory Council of Fallujah Mujahideen, there are currently 136 Americans, 15 Brits and 123 Allawi Army prisoners of war.

23. Have any POW's been acknowledged by the DoD? I have not heard
of any.

And that seems kind of strange to me...either the Iraqi resistance has taken no prisoners, or the DoD is not telling us about the prisoners that the resistance has taken.

It could be that I simply have not seen this information, I guess, but that would be kind of strange in itself.

42. I'm personally not sure that the DoD is telling us the truth about ANY....
...of our casualty numbers. We wouldn't have wanted to alarm anyone before the election.

And now they can't tell the truth about our actual number of dead, wounded and captured because that would catch them in the original lie.

2. Now, now, let's not rush to judgment
After all, we don't know the whole context and all the ramifications of this announcement, and there could be a whole lot more to this than is apparent on the surface.

Gee, that sounds kind of stupid when it's American lives in danger. I wonder why it sounds so palatable when it's some brown-skinned raghead getting greased?

that this would be what US troops faced in the occupation of Iraq. The lives of US troops mean nothing to bush. The lives of innocent Iraqis mean even less. Bush is a lunatic. A very dangerous lunatic. He is playing the roll that Bin Laden created for him. He is doing exactly what Bin Laden wanted him to do.

Both are merely playing roles in this Hegelian farce masquerading as reality. They are controlled by the same group of macroeconomic megalomaniacs, however, to the detriment of the clueless citizens of the Middle East AND the USA.

13. This takes me back to Joe Biden *extremely angry* ...
It was a couple months back at a hearing and I'll never forget that Biden was genuinely steaming mad while stating, "The reason we have the Geneva Conventions is to protect our military troops from being tortured."

Now Joe Biden has a sense for flair but he was NOT acting when stating the above.

That statement rings true now. :(

16. There is a statistic that is never mentioned nor given;
that is the MIAs. In combat of any kind there will be MIAs. In urban combat there is a much higher likelihood for MIAs. Yet, never has there been a mention of any MIAs. Odd. This is the nightmare scenario that everyone has worried about. No one cares about the Iraqis - women, children, the old? Who cares. No one really cares about the troops getting killed or wounded - hey, "it's what they signed up for". But, having US troops held as POWs and executed just like we execute theirs - that's going to upset the US public (at least until the next husband/wife murder show airs on the local news).

35. Could this be what Lil Boots has wanted?

He's been fascinated by nukes since 9/11. This will give him the excuse to use a tactical nuke on fallujah to once and for all rid him of the 'insurgentcy'.

And amurka will remain the ONLY nation to ever have used nuclear weapons in the entire world. We maintane our lead.

Of course the backblast from the rest of the world would mean the end of the United States of America. Economicly, financially, politically. We would be cut off from the world forever.

And that, I propose, is Lil Boots intent.

40. there's a lot of sentiment for that already
I've heard more than one person in the military, and civilian contractors too, opine that we should just "pull out and turn Iraq into glass."

The fact that anyone finds that a viable option has led to more than one full-throated debate. I quote Leo McGarry to them:

"And you think racheting up the body count's going to act as a deterrent?...if you want to start using American military strength as the arm of the Lord, you can do that. We're the only super power left. You can conquer the world like Charlemagne. But you better be prepared to kill everyone and you better start with me, 'cause I will raise up an army against you..."

19. What the hell were Bush&co *AND* the Military expecting?
This attack on Fallujah was a massacre. We liberated no one. The hatred is only growing against us. Our military made no distinction between "insurgents" and "citizens", nor will they make distinctions either in the years to come.

Republicans must feel safer, though, knowing that Bush is standing right behind them as they plunge headlong into their war fantasy.

39. what is up with this term 'insurgent'? ...
Only 5% of these people are even foreigners. These are Iraqi people attempting to resist being taken over by a ruthless band of terrorists, who have used WMD on then, murdered 100,000 of their civilian population, destroyed their homes and religious buildings, want to impose a new government on them and steal their oil.

Why are these people referred to as 'insurgents' and 'terrorists'.
They are fighting for their lives and for the live of their country.

By definition, wouldn't George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and all of those who fought in our revolutionary war be insurgents. Wouldn't all of those liberal minded people with a dream be considered insurgents and terrorists.

Shouldn't the propaganda spinners at least have the decency to call these people 'the enemy'.

It doesn't really mean "foreign invaders" or anything like that. It comes from the latin word for "uprising". Our word "insurrection" is from the same root.
