French insurgents killed in Iraq
Three Frenchmen have died fighting with insurgents against US-led troops in Iraq, reports say.

The men, all of Arab origin, were killed in the country over recent months as the insurgency has flared.

Two of the men were aged 19 and the third was 24 years old, a French official said.

God when is this gonna end. It's so depressing to have to wake up every morning and hear that 5 more soldiers died.

Until we end up puilling out and leaving Iraq to its own devices. In many ways this looks like it is going to end up far more nasty and a bigger loss than even Vietnam, as in Vietnam the occurance of outside fighters was minimal and limited to people from bordering countries. In this case insurgents are entering Iraq coming from all over the world. From Afghanistan, from Pakistan, now France, likely from all over North Africa.

Before this war began I thought that an attack on Iraq would cause the membership of Al Qaeda to swell by hundreds of thousands and I now beleive that the number of insurgents in Iraq greatly exceded the 13,000 that the Bush Administration are admitting to. We keep hearing figures of 2500 insurgents being killed each motnh, yet the number of insurgents never seems to be diminishing, but increasing.

5. Was it 60 Minutes
that had a piece on a French Muslim extremist? He lived in France and recruited for al Qaeda. He promoted killing all Americans. So I guess it's not surprising to see French Muslims showing up in Iraq.
