3. Can you even imagine what would happen to us
if we tried that? pleeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, they have more freedom than we do - we could not get within miles of the "pResident's" house...we would be shot with rubber bullets or hosed and dragged off to holding pens....

Can you imagine America being the fascist state and the Russian republics having freedom and democracy?

And Lugar says exit polls are correct as long as they are in Russia? Does he even realize what he said?

4. They Have the Guts to Try.
Did we in 2000? Do we in 2004? Especially if its proven that Bush won in Ohio and elsewhere through voter fraud and a corrupt computer voting system.

11. Thank you
for stating truth here.

At least these people have some courage and conviction. We do too....we do it typing comments to a message board.

9. I have never been prouder to be Ukrainian -- or a liberal!
As I was growing up, when someone asked me my nationality, I would say that I am Ukrainian, and their reply would be: "That's Russian, right?" Seeing all those people protest, knowing it's their ONLY chance, has made me want to keep up the good fight on all fronts!

10. I sing the music of the great Ukrainian composers
I love it.

Question: What is the driving motivation for this protest {besides a rigged election of course}?

13. Driving motivation
People are sick of the shit they've been living in since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Neither the promises of democracy nor the supposed benefits of a market economy have been realized. And so they take it to the streets in the naive hope that a Western stooge is going to do the country any more good than a Russian one.

The sad history of the past thirteen years repeats itself in the region, again and again.

12. Chilling pics...
a country with courage, ideals, hopes, unity. Good for them, and best wishes....while here in *land we hid in our homes. The Ukranians shame us. Living in a small town repug stronghold, I confess to having let a grim depression take me, and done nothing.

16. I am proud to be a Ukrainian
You have to live for 13 years with bastards to know what is driving those people to the streets. The US is lazy and happy and very well to do country. A political dissent is highly unlikely thing here. When people are drawn against the wall the self-preserving mechanism kicks in, this is their only choice to succeed and they are willing to go all the way.

17. We believe exit polls in the Ukraine, but not in the U.S.?
The amazing thing about the Ukraine election crisis is that we're expected to believe the exit polls there, but not here. What's up with that?

These locals in Oregon are asking!
