4. It was inevitable
that the pre-election "job growth" that the Bush administration touted so highly would dissipitate after the win was secured. Who the hell is going to be able to afford a lazy boy recliner when all the jobs are in China? History has shown that decreasing the spending power of the wage earners in order to enrichen the wage setters is a recipe for depression. Their greed coupled with a generalized prevailing American stupidity will be the death of us all. Why doesn't this make me sad anymore?

5. at least they voted blue
My favorite r the ones who voted for Bush as they pile on policies
that will ship their jobs overseas.

Ed Rendell is fighting the good fight on jobs...shame he lost this round.

6. I wonder how many of the employees at Pennsylvania House
voted for *? If any of them did, what was that mantra of 4 weeks ago?
I believe it went something like " I don't give a ****!!!

Thank God, I bought my La-Z-Boy furniture this year instead of waiting.

7. Harrisburg blows
Of course, the jerks in our General Assembly - both houses - where re-election and political graft are as automatic as Ben Franklin's kite, do nothing. And no one holds these legislative louts, the dark cloud in a bright Blue state, accountable.

8. Hi, Harry
Fellow Pennsylvanian here. :hi:

THey all make me sick. Even Rendell some days but it really chapped my butt when they left without voting on Rendell's plan to save Septa. Don't get me wrong, I hate Septa but they are threatening to raise fares 25% and eliminate weekend service. That will hurt a lot of people, but they refused to vote or debate b/c Rendell wouldn't promise the pukes a vote on their own raises.

9. Eddy Fan here too.
He has it tough just because he's from Philly, might as well be from out of state unfortunately.

Of course the Lazy boy thing sucks too - we were starting to look at them with interest.

And while I feel bad of course about the job loss - well, I just chalk that up to the expected way of big-bidness during the dubya era.

10. 2 Layoffs in Lancaster, PA also announced today of 240 each.
One was Kemp foods (ice cream and yogurt).
The other was Armstrong World Industries.

The job market is bustling with activity. In China.

13. This makes me sad because
The very first piece of nice furniture that I ever bought was a Pennyslvania House Loveseat. I bought it right after I married in 1970 with money from my new in-laws. I cost $600.00 which was a lot back then.
Over the years, I've never had another piece quite as nice. And yes, it is still in great shape ( it's in the back bedroom, and has been recovered once). Very, very well made.
