Bobier, the national media director for Green Party presidential
candidate David Cobb, flew to Ohio on Friday to oversee efforts to get
a recount in that state. The Green Party also is pursuing a recount in
New Mexico.

"There were widespread problems and irregularities with the election
in Ohio and a number of other states," Bobier said. "This is about the
integrity of the voting process."

In a previously published report, Bobier told The Associated Press
that one Ohio county had recorded more votes for George Bush than it
had registered voters. Problems also surfaced with electronic touch-
screen voting machines.

"I think it's insane to trust our elections to private companies that
won't let us see the software that programs the computers and won't
provide a paper trail of the vote," Bobier said.
