US Senate Democrats Claim Votes To Beat Overtime Plan
WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)

Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., said Tuesday there is growing bipartisan opposition to a U.S. Department of Labor plan to deny some workers federal overtime protections. ---

Democrats sought to bring their amendment to a vote Tuesday, but Republican leaders have been considering ways to avoid the vote, or at least to assure they win it.

The most recent GOP plan was to postpone the vote from Tuesday to Wednesday, when several of the Senate Democrats running for president would be out of Washington and on the campaign trail.

But Daschle said Tuesday that he now thinks the votes of the Democratic presidential candidates may not be needed to pass their amendment. ---

would be "needed" to get them elected president!!! I would think that Kerry, Graham, and co. would want to have their names tied to this pro-worker effort!!!

2. I agree
They should stay in D.C. and cast their votes whenever the Repugs schedule it. This is a huge campaign issue. Anyone who misses the vote, is going to pay for it.

3. The Republicans are trying to delay the vote?
Don't they want the Will of the People carried out? What's so bad about overruling an attack on American working men and women that the Republicans find it necessary to subvert the system and deny workers the pay and benefits they've earned?

My, my, my. Perhaps they should have a nice big cup of shut the fuck up next time one of their wingnut judicial candidates bites the dust, hmmm?

4. More stunning logic from the right-wing.
Pigs in DC: We're going to lose on this issue, so we're going to use the system to our advantage and prevent a vote.

And the Pigs think that's perfectly fine.

Dems in Texas: We're going to lose on this issue, so we're going to use the system to our advantage and prevent a vote.

And the Pigs scream that it's unfair, the tyranny of the minority, they need to get back to work, etc.

:wtf:

The current Republican Party has got to be the largest gathering of hypocrites the world has ever known.

6. But...but....
The Repug spokespig said that nurses are protected by their union contracts!

He wouldn't make something like that up, would he?

(Oh, yeah, he would. )
